A haiku poet of the early Edo period. Mr. Yamamoto. His name is well known. His pseudonym is Kyobokudo . He was a doctor in Nagoya. He was originally a member of the Tei school, but later joined the Sho school, and edited and published "Winter Days," "Spring Days," "Wild Plains ," and others . He then left the Sho school and turned to linked verse. He was born in the first year of Keian and the first year of Kyoho ( 1648-1716 ). 江戸前期の俳人。山本氏。名は周知。別号橿木(きょうぼく)堂。名古屋の医師。初め貞門にあったが、のち、蕉門にはいり、「冬の日」「春の日」「曠野(あらの)」などを編集上梓。その後蕉風から離れ、連歌に転ずる。慶安元~享保元年(一六四八‐一七一六)
