Around 1844 - 1910
He was one of the leading constitutionalist ulama in Tehran during the Iranian Constitutional Revolution (1905-11). During the tobacco boycott movement, he was critical of the boycott, but was actively involved in the constitutional movement. In the First Assembly (1906-08), he took a seat representing the Jews. In the subsequent Second Assembly (1909-11), he had a hidden influence on the moderates, but was assassinated by his opponents. [Yaoshi Makoto]

イラン立憲革命期(1905‐11)のテヘランにおける指導的立憲派ウラマーの一人。タバコ･ボイコット運動に際しては，ボイコットに批判的立場をとったが，立憲運動には積極的に関与した。第1議会(1906‐08)では，ユダヤ教徒を代弁して議席を占めた。続く第2議会(1909‐11)では穏健派に隠然たる影響力を有したが反対派により暗殺された。【八尾師誠】
