Born in the 5th year of the Jowa era (1461-1468). A local lord in Izumo (Shimane Prefecture). He learned waka poetry from Reizei Tamehide and renga poetry from Nijō Yoshimoto. He served Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and later became a monk and travelled around the country. He returned to Kyoto when he was around 60 years old. There is a theory that he died at the age of 79 in 1427 (1427). His name was Morotsuna. His self-selected haiku collections include "Bonto Renga-awase Jugoban."
