Pool fever - Pool fever

Japanese:
Pool fever - Pool fever
An acute viral infection caused by adenovirus. It is common among children and school-age children, and is transmitted through the hands and saliva of an infected person. Its official name is "pharyngoconjunctival fever," but it is commonly called "swimming pool fever" because it is often spread through swimming pool water. It usually spreads mainly in the summer (June to August), but it can also occur in winter. Once infected, after a 5-7 day incubation period, symptoms such as high fever, sore throat, and conjunctivitis appear. There is no specific treatment, and symptomatic treatment is the main focus. It usually heals naturally within about a week. As it is designated as a Class 2 infectious disease under the School Health and Safety Act, if infection is discovered, students will generally be suspended from attending school until two days have passed since the main symptoms have disappeared.
