An annual magazine edited by Kandinsky and Marc Franz (1880-1916) and first published in Munich in 1912. "Blauer Reiter" was also the name of a group of artists who participated in the magazine, and their movement, along with the preceding "Brücke" group, became part of Expressionism. The magazine is translated as "The Blue Rider." It contained essays by the two editors, who foresaw the "Age of the Great Spirit," as well as essays on abstract art from Russia, Germany, France, and other countries on an international scale, and became a pioneering milestone in the abstract-oriented avant-garde art of this century.

カンディンスキーとマルクFranz Marc(1880‐1916)により編集され，1912年にミュンヘンで創刊された年刊誌。〈ブラウエ･ライター〉とはまた，同誌に参加した芸術家グループの名称で，彼らの運動は，先立つ〈ブリュッケ〉グループとともに，表現主義の一翼をになった。〈青騎士〉と訳される。同誌は〈大いなる精神の時代〉を予見する両編集者の論文をはじめ，抽象芸術に関する論考をロシア，ドイツ，フランスなど国際的規模で収め，抽象を志向する今世紀前衛芸術の先駆的な一里程標となった。
