Emperor Wu

Japanese: 武帝 - ぶてい

[1] The seventh emperor of the Western Han dynasty of China (reigned 141-87 BC ). His temple name was Shizong . He defeated the Xiongnu and opened the way for East-West communication. He focused on centralizing power and made Confucianism the national learning of China ( 159 BC-87 BC ). [2] The first emperor of the Southern Liang dynasty of China (reigned 502-549 ). His name was Xiao Yan . His temple name was Gaozu. He ascended to the throne after destroying the Qi dynasty. He achieved great success in civil administration, but in his later years, while he built a golden age for Buddhism, he neglected politics and was involved in the Hou Jing Rebellion, and died in captivity ( 464-549 ).

[一] 中国前漢第七代の皇帝（在位前一四一‐前八七）。廟号は世宗(せいそう)。匈奴を撃破し、東西交通の道を開いた。中央集権に力を入れ、儒学を国学とした。（前一五九‐前八七）[二] 中国南朝梁の初代皇帝（在位五〇二‐五四九）。姓名蕭衍(しょうえん)。廟号は高祖。斉王朝を滅ぼして、即位した。民政に治績をあげたが、晩年は、仏教の黄金時代を築いた反面、政治をおろそかにして侯景の乱にあい、幽閉中に没した。（四六四‐五四九）
