Smooth endoplasmic reticulum

It is an intracellular organelle that does not have ribosomes bound to it, and in liver and other organelles, it is structurally connected to the rough endoplasmic reticulum. It contains enzymes involved in lipid metabolism, such as phospholipid synthesis, cholesterol synthesis, and fatty acid desaturation, as well as various enzymes that work to detoxify drugs and toxic compounds.
