The Fang La Rebellion

Japanese: 方臘の乱 - ほうろうのらん

A rebellion broke out in the Zhejiang region in the late Northern Song Dynasty of China. It is said that Fang La was the owner of a lacquer garden in Qingxi County, Muzhou (Zhejiang Province), but there is also a theory that he was an employee of the Fang family. At the time, the Prime Minister Cai Jing ordered the wealthy people of Suzhou, Zhu Jie (Zhu Men), and his son, to requisition strange stones and rare trees from Jiangnan and transport them to the capital to provide for Huizong's entertainment, causing suffering to the people of the region. This is called the Huashi Gang. In October 1120 (Xuanhe 2), Fang La led an uprising under the slogan "Kill Zhu Jie," calling himself the Sheng Gong and naming the era Yongle.

中国，北宋末期に浙江地方に起こった反乱。方臘は睦州青渓県(浙江省)の漆園経営者であったといわれるが，方家の雇用人という説もある。当時，徽宗の遊興に供するため，宰相蔡京は蘇州の富民朱勔（しゆめん）父子に命じて江南から奇石珍木を徴発して都に運ばせ，この地方の人民を苦しめた。これを花石綱という。1120年(宣和2)10月，方臘は〈朱勔を殺せ〉をスローガンにして蜂起し，みずから聖公と号し，年号を永楽と定めた。
