Representative ways of tying pile yarn include the Persian knot (Sehna knot) and the Turkish knot (Ghiordes knot). The Persian knot is used mainly by Iranian people in Iran and in the east, while the Turkish knot is used in Turkey and the Caucasus region, as well as in Tabriz, Hamadan, and areas in Iran where Turkish nomads live.
