Akisuke Fujiwara

A poet of the late Heian period. His father was Fujiwara Akisue, a Shosanmi Shuri no Daibu (Senior Third Rank), and his mother was the daughter of Fujiwara Tsunehira. He became Shosanmi Sakyo no Daibu (Senior Third Rank). Following in his father Akisue's footsteps, he was active as a waka instructor after the deaths of Toshiyori and Mototoshi, and made a great contribution to establishing the Rokujo Fujiwara family as a waka master family. In 1144 (Ten'yo 1), he received an imperial edict from Emperor Sutoku, and in 1151 (Ninpei 1), he presented his sixth imperially commissioned waka anthology, Shikashu. He died on May 7, 2nd year of Kyuju. Both Kiyosuke and Yushi Kensho were famous poets and waka scholars. His style of poetry is moderate and moderate, but he excels at descriptive poetry and nostalgic poetry. In addition to the "Sakyo no Daifu Kensukeshu" (Sakyou no Daifu Kensukeshu) that he is a member of the "Kyuan Hyakushu" (100 Poets), his works are included in the "Kinyoshu" and other collections.

平安後期の歌人。父は正三位(さんみ)修理大夫(しゅりのだいぶ)藤原顕季(あきすえ)、母は藤原経平の女(むすめ)。正三位左京大夫に至る。父顕季の跡を受け、俊頼(としより)、基俊(もととし)亡きあと和歌の指導者として活躍、六条藤家(ろくじょうとうけ)を歌道師範家として確立する功績をあげた。1144年(天養1)崇徳(すとく)院より院宣を下され、51年(仁平1)六番目の勅撰(ちょくせん)和歌集『詞花(しか)集』を奏覧した。久寿(きゅうじゅ)2年5月7日没。息清輔(きよすけ)、猶子(ゆうし)顕昭(けんしょう)はともに歌人・歌学者として著名。歌風は穏健中正であるが、叙景歌、述懐歌に優れる。家集に『左京大夫顕輔集』があるほか、『久安(きゅうあん)百首』歌人でもあり、『金葉集』以下に入集(にっしゅう)。
