This was the last rebellion of the Ise Heike clan that occurred in the spring of 1204 (Genkyu 1). As the report of Hiraga Tomomasa, who was in charge of suppressing the rebellion, states, "Even though the two provinces (Iga and Ise) were tempted, the rebellion did not last more than three days," the outcome was decided in a battle that took place from April 10th to 12th, hence the name. It is a mistake to say that some versions of the Tale of the Heike and the Genpei Jōsuiki refer to this rebellion as occurring in 1184 (Genryaku 1). As early as the end of 1203 (Kennin 3), Wakana Goro of the Ise Heike clan launched a night attack on the province's guardian's office, but by February and March of the following year, the scale of the rebellion had spread to the entire Heike clan in the Iga and Ise regions.
