Fukuda ruins

Japanese: 福田遺跡 - ふくだいせき

This is an archaeological site where bronze implements were buried, located in Fukuda, Aki-cho, Higashi-ku, Hiroshima City. There is a legend that there is treasure on Kinomuneyama (413m) located in the northeast of Hiroshima City, and in 1891, when digging was carried out directly below the large standing stone called Kin-no-dan on the middle slope, one bronze bell, one bronze sword, and one bronze spear were excavated from under a flat stone. The bronze bell is 18.9cm tall and has a glossy black surface. The pattern on the body is divided by three horizontal bands, and at the top there are two apricot-like overlapping circle patterns reminiscent of eyes. Because of this pattern, it is called the horizontal band pattern bronze bell or the evil eye pattern bronze bell.

広島市東区安芸町福田にある青銅器を埋納した遺跡。広島市北東に位置する木の宗山(413m)に宝物があるという言い伝えがあり，1891年に中腹の金の段という大立石の前方直下を掘ったところ，平石の下から銅鐸1，銅剣1，銅戈1が出土した。銅鐸は高さ18.9cmで，表面は黒みをおびて光沢があり，身部の文様は3条の横帯で区切られ，上部に杏仁様の重圏文を二つならべ眼をおもわせる。この文様から横帯文銅鐸，邪視文銅鐸などと称せられる。
