Adana Plain - Adanaheiya

...Since the 7th century, it has been a disputed area between the Byzantine Empire and Arab and Turkish dynasties, and an Armenian state was established there in the 12th and 13th centuries. The Adana Plain, which forms the delta of the Seyhan River, has been irrigated (about 100,000 hectares) and is Turkey's most important agricultural region. It produces cotton (the largest production in Turkey), wheat, citrus fruits, and other crops, and Adana is an important distribution base for these crops.
