Fondue - fondue (English spelling) French

A Swiss specialty made primarily from melted cheese and white wine. A fondue cooking set (fondue pot, alcohol lamp stand, skewers, etc.) is also available, making it an elegant dish. The typical way to make it is as follows. First, rub the inside of the fondue pot with the cut side of garlic to add flavor. Put grated Gruyere cheese into the pot, add white wine, and place on the alcohol lamp stand. Heat while stirring constantly to melt the cheese and make it into a thick cream. Season with kirschwasser, nutmeg, pepper, etc. Separately, cut bread into 3 cm cubes, toast it, and prepare it on a separate plate. Insert the bread on a fondue skewer, dip it all over with the prepared melted cheese, mix it together, and eat it while it is hot. Fondue Bourguignon (meat fondue), which is unique to Burgundy, is made by inserting beef on a skewer into a pot of oil and frying it while eating. This fondue can be enjoyed with your favorite sauces and condiments.

溶かしたチーズと白ワインを主材料としたスイスの名物料理。フォンデュ用の調理セット（フォンデュ鍋(なべ)、アルコールランプ付きの台、金串(かなぐし)など）もできていて、風雅な料理である。代表的な作り方を次にあげる。まずフォンデュ鍋の内側にニンニクの断面をこすりつけて香りをつける。グリュイエールチーズのおろしたものを鍋に入れ、白ワインを加え、アルコールランプ台にのせる。絶えずかき混ぜながら加熱してチーズを溶かし、とろりとしたクリーム状にする。キルシュワッサー、ナツメグ、こしょうなどで調味する。別にパンを3センチメートル角に切ってトーストし、別皿に用意する。フォンデュ用の串にパンを刺し、用意してある溶けたチーズを全面につけてからませ、熱いところを食べる。また、ブルゴーニュ地方独特のフォンデュ・ブルギニョン（ミートフォンデュ）は、牛肉を串に刺して油の鍋に差し込み、揚げながら食べる。このフォンデュは、好みのソースや薬味などを添えて味を楽しむ。
