...They have well-developed mandibles and long legs, and run quickly to prey on insects, earthworms, snails, and other small animals. Ground beetles and ground beetles are distributed throughout Eurasia, except in the tropical regions, and in North America, and many of them have degenerated hind wings. They mainly live on the ground, but many of them have no significant mobility and are limited to certain habitats.
