1878 ^* -? Korean religious leader.
Born on December 23, 1863 in the 14th year of the reign of King Gojong. Came to Japan in 1903 as a special student dispatched by the Korean Imperial Family. After graduating from Meiji University, he returned to Korea and joined Cheondogyo. During the March 1st Independence Movement, he signed the Declaration of Independence and was imprisoned. Later, he strengthened his stance as a right-wing nationalist, and served as a councillor in the Central Council of the Government-General of Korea, president of the Mainichi Shinposha news agency, and head of the Joseon Rinsen Hokokudan. After Korea gained independence in 1945, he was accused of being pro-Japanese, and went missing during the Korean War. Born in Hamgyong Province.

高宗14年12月23日生まれ。明治36年韓国皇室特派留学生として来日。明大卒業後,帰国して天道教にはいる。三・一独立運動では独立宣言書に署名し入獄。のち右派民族主義の立場をつよめ,朝鮮総督府中枢院参議,毎日申報社社長,朝鮮臨戦報国団団長を歴任。1945年の朝鮮独立後,親日派として告発され,朝鮮戦争のとき行方不明となった。咸鏡道出身。
