Born on December 23, 1863 in the 14th year of the reign of King Gojong. Came to Japan in 1903 as a special student dispatched by the Korean Imperial Family. After graduating from Meiji University, he returned to Korea and joined Cheondogyo. During the March 1st Independence Movement, he signed the Declaration of Independence and was imprisoned. Later, he strengthened his stance as a right-wing nationalist, and served as a councillor in the Central Council of the Government-General of Korea, president of the Mainichi Shinposha news agency, and head of the Joseon Rinsen Hokokudan. After Korea gained independence in 1945, he was accused of being pro-Japanese, and went missing during the Korean War. Born in Hamgyong Province.
