Farman Brothers - Farman Siblings

Japanese: ファルマン兄弟 - ファルマンきょうだい
Farman Brothers - Farman Siblings
French aeronautical engineer. His elder brother was Henri Farman (1874-1958) and his younger brother was Maurice Farman (1877-1964). The elder Henri is particularly famous as a pioneering pilot in the early days of aviation. However, his parents were British and lived in Paris, and Henri himself held British nationality until 1937. He initially aspired to be an artist, then a race car driver, and eventually became interested in flying airplanes. His aircraft was a Voisin biplane built by the Voisin brothers, but at the end of 1908 he added ailerons to it and made the first turning flight in Europe, followed by the first flight of one kilometer (500m round trip), for which he won a prize.
