A village in the Cova da Iria plateau in the northwest of Santarem County, central Portugal. Since three children in the area witnessed a vision of the Virgin Mary on May 13, 1917, it has become famous as a holy place, and today a magnificent cathedral has been built there, attracting many pilgrims every year.
