Flower Garden - Ohanabata

It refers to a flowery grassland or dwarf shrub community found on high mountains. It is sometimes used synonymously with alpine plant community. What is generally called a flower field often refers to broadleaf grassland with plants such as buttercup, mountain buttercup, white mountain bellflower, and four-leaved scleractinian that grows on avalanche slopes in coniferous forest zones, or broadleaf grassland with plants such as rabbit's ear and Japanese black lily around snow fields. Flower fields are sometimes classified as dry, neutral, or wet, mainly based on moisture conditions. They are a major attraction for mountain tourism.

高い山にある花の多い草原、または矮性(わいせい)低木群落をいう。高山植物群落と同義に用いられることもある。一般にお花畑とよばれるものは、針葉林帯（針葉樹林帯）の雪崩(なだれ)斜面に成立するシナノキンバイ、ミヤマキンポウゲ、ハクサンフウロ、ヨツバシオガマなどの広葉草原か、雪田周辺のウサギギク、クロユリなどの広葉草原をさすことが多い。水分条件を主として、お花畑を乾性、中性、湿性に区別することもある。山岳ツーリズムの誘因の主たるものである。
