Born on April 1, 1626. The eldest son of Ishikawa Tadafusa's eldest son, Kadokatsu. Succeeding his grandfather, he became the second head of the Ishikawa clan to rule Zeze Domain in Omi (Shiga Prefecture) in 1645. In 1646, he became the head of Kameyama Domain in Ise (Mie Prefecture), and in 1669, he became the first head of the Ishikawa clan to rule Yodo Domain in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture). He had a fief of 60,000 koku. In 1695, he lectured on the Analects of Confucius to Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. He died on July 11, 1604, at the age of 74. His original name was Masakatsu.
