Noriyuki Ishikawa

Japanese: 石川憲之 - いしかわのりゆき

1634-1707 A daimyo from the early to mid-Edo period.
Born on April 1, 1626. The eldest son of Ishikawa Tadafusa's eldest son, Kadokatsu. Succeeding his grandfather, he became the second head of the Ishikawa clan to rule Zeze Domain in Omi (Shiga Prefecture) in 1645. In 1646, he became the head of Kameyama Domain in Ise (Mie Prefecture), and in 1669, he became the first head of the Ishikawa clan to rule Yodo Domain in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture). He had a fief of 60,000 koku. In 1695, he lectured on the Analects of Confucius to Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. He died on July 11, 1604, at the age of 74. His original name was Masakatsu. His pen names were Yasue and Taibo.

寛永11年4月1日生まれ。石川忠総(ただふさ)の長男廉勝(かどかつ)の長男。祖父の跡をつぎ,慶安3年近江(おうみ)(滋賀県)膳所(ぜぜ)藩主石川家2代。4年伊勢(いせ)(三重県)亀山藩主に転じ,寛文9年山城(京都府)淀(よど)藩主石川家初代となる。6万石。元禄(げんろく)8年将軍徳川綱吉に「論語」を講じた。宝永4年7月11日死去。74歳。初名は昌勝。号は泰恵,泰窗。
