Rhino - Rhino

Japanese: サイ(犀) - サイ
Rhino - Rhino
A general term for mammals in the Rhinoceros family of the Perissodactyla order. There are the white rhinoceros (dry savannah of Africa), which stands 1.8m tall and weighs 2.3t; the slightly smaller Indian rhinoceros (also known as the one-horned rhinoceros, found in the grasslands of Nepal and northern India), which stands 1.6m tall at the shoulder; the Sumatran rhinoceros (rainforests in the mountainous regions of Southeast Asia), which stands 1.4m tall and weighs 800kg; and the Javan rhinoceros and black rhinoceros. They flourished in the latter half of the Tertiary Period, but today only two species live in Africa and three in South and Southeast Asia. They have one or two horns on their nose that are keratinous and have no bone core. They have a keen sense of smell and hearing, but poor eyesight. They are herbivorous. → Rhino horn
