Simultaneous quadratic equations

Japanese: 連立二次方程式 - れんりつにじほうていしき（英語表記）simultaneous quadratic equation

The simultaneous algebraic equations f ₁ ( x ₁ , ... , x _n ) = 0, ..., f _r ( x ₁ , ... , x _n ) = 0 are called simultaneous quadratic equations when the degrees of f ₁ , ..., f _r are all quadratic or lower, and at least one is quadratic. Let's consider the case where n = 2 and r = 2. When solving this, (I) gives x ₁ = -2 x ₂ - 3, and substituting this into (II) gives the quadratic equation for x _2. Solving this gives x ₂ = 2, -1. Substituting this value into (I) gives the solution ( x ₁ , x ₂ ) = (-7, 2), (-1, -1).

連立代数方程式f₁(x₁，……，x_n)＝0，……，f_r(x₁，……，x_n)＝0はf₁，……，f_rの次数がすべて二次以下で，少なくとも一つは二次のものがあるとき連立二次方程式と呼ばれる。n＝2,r＝2の場合を考えてみよう。を解いてみると，(I)からx₁＝－2x₂－3となるが，これを(II)に代入してx₂についての二次方程式を得る。それを解いてx₂＝2，－1がでる。この値を(I)に代入して，(x₁,x₂)＝(－7,2)，(－1，－1)という解を得る。
