A former town in Kaizu County, southwest of Gifu Prefecture. Imao, which developed as a river port on the Ibi River, is the main settlement, and together with Kaizu Town to the south, it forms the Takasu Waju area, surrounded by the three rivers of Ibi, Nagara, and Kiso. Rice is the mainstay of the town, but it also practices greenhouse horticulture and dairy farming. Ochiyobo Inari Shrine is worshiped by merchants. In March 2005, it merged with Kaizu Town and Nanno Town in Kaizu County to become a city, Kaizu City. 16.29 km2 . 岐阜県南西部,海津(かいづ)郡の旧町。揖斐(いび)川の河港として発達した今尾が主集落で,南の海津町とともに揖斐・長良・木曾の3川に囲まれた高須輪中(わじゅう)を形成。米作を中心として,施設園芸,酪農も行う。お千代保稲荷は商家の信仰を集める。2005年3月海津郡海津町,南濃町と合併し市制,海津市となる。16.29km2。8637人(2003)。
