Chakhar province - Chakhar shěng

Japanese: チャハル省 - チャハルしょう（英語表記）Chakhar shěng

The name of an old province in China. It is written in Chinese as Chahar Province. In 1914, Chahar Special Region was established, and in 1928, the province was established. Although it bears the name Chahar, it does not include all eight Mongolian Chahar tribe banners, but includes the four right wing banners and the banners of the Xilingol League. In addition, it had jurisdiction over the provincial capital Zhangjiakou City, as well as counties such as Huailai, Xuanhua, Huai'an, Shangdu, Duolun, and Guyuan. Tieshan in Longyan also belonged to the province. It was abolished in 1952, and the northern part was incorporated into the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the southern part into Hebei Province.

中国の旧省名。察哈爾省と漢字表記する。1914年，チャハル特別区が設けられ，28年省が置かれた。チャハルの名を冠するが，モンゴル族のチャハル部8旗が全部包括されるのでなく，右翼4旗とシリンゴール(錫林郭勒)盟各旗が含まれ，ほかに省都張家口市をはじめ，懐来，宣化，懐安，商都，多倫，沽源などの各県が管内にあった。竜烟の鉄山も本省に属していた。52年廃止され，北部は内モンゴル自治区に，南部は河北省に編入された。
