…When the gastric mucosa thickens, the folds it creates become thicker. This condition is called giant folds, and it is difficult to distinguish it from gastric cancer. A rare disease, Ménétrier disease, is a very severe form of this condition, and was reported by the French physician P. Ménétrier (1859-1935).
