Born: August 10, 1869 in Lancaster [Died] March 10, 1943, Reading. British art scholar, poet, and playwright. He studied at Oxford University and worked in the art department of the British Museum. He is known for his research on Oriental art, and has published many books. He also demonstrated his status as a scholar-poet through his works such as Lyric Poems (1894), which set beautiful lyricism in traditional poetic form, and was a pioneer in the revival of blank verse drama.
