Aurignac Ruins - Aurignac Ruins

Japanese: オーリニャック遺跡 - おーりにゃっくいせき
Aurignac Ruins - Aurignac Ruins

…A late Paleolithic culture with the Aurignac site in the Pyrenees in France as its reference site. This culture emerged during a cold period (Phase I) and then entered a period of rapid climate warming (Phase II). This period corresponds to the Arcy warm period, and is estimated to be around 30,500 years ago by carbon-14 methods. In the early 20th century, the Aurignacian culture was placed between the Mousterian and Solutre cultures, and was later divided into three periods by H. Breuil. The earlier, middle, and later periods are called the Châtelperronian, Aurignacian, and Gravettian, respectively.
