Haloalkane (English spelling)

Japanese: ハロアルカン（英語表記）haloalkane

Also called alkyl halides. A general term for compounds in which one hydrogen atom of an alkane (an aliphatic chain saturated hydrocarbon) has been replaced with a halogen (fluorine F, chlorine Cl, bromine Br, or iodine I). It is generally represented by the formula _CnH2n ₊ 1X _. An example is _CH3CH2Cl , and the nomenclature is chloroethane for halogen-substituted alkanes, or ethyl chloride for alkyl halide compounds.

ハロゲン化アルキルalkyl halideともいう。アルカン(脂肪族鎖式飽和炭化水素)の水素原子1個をハロゲン(フッ素F，塩素Cl，臭素Br，ヨウ素I)で置換した化合物の総称。一般式C_nH_2n＋1Xで表される。CH₃CH₂Clなどがその例で，命名法は，アルカンのハロゲン置換体としてクロロエタンchloroethane，またはアルキル基のハロゲン化物として塩化エチルethyl chlorideのように命名する。
