[Died] December 22, 1991, Munich. German philosopher born in Italy. Professor at the University of Munich since 1948. He attempted to reinterpret human beings and reality from a humanistic perspective and to establish the basis of philosophy from that perspective. His major works include Vom Vorrang des Logos (1938) (The Primacy of Logos) and Die Einheit unseres Wirklichkeitsbildes (51) (The Unity of Real Images).
