Ichitani Shrine

...The subordinate shrine Tsukiyomi Shrine is also treated as a Myojin Taisha in the Engishiki and is worshipped as the deity that protects safe childbirth. Ichidani Shrine is a shrine listed in the Engishiki and, together with Munakata Shrine, is located at the foot of Arashiyama. It was close to the Kazuno mint site in the early Heian period and was once offered newly minted coins. The Shinko Festival, which began in the early Heian period, is held on the second day of the Rabbit in April, and the Kanko Festival is held on the first day of the Rooster in May. During the Togyo Festival, portable shrines from seven subordinate shrines (Omiya, Shidaijin, Kinu-de, Sannomiya, Munakata, Ichidani, Tsukiyomi) are carried out and perform a ritual of crossing the Katsura River.
