Other auxiliary ledgers used include fixed asset ledgers (equipment ledgers, machinery ledgers, land ledgers, etc.), raw material inventory ledgers, merchandise inventory ledgers, finished goods inventory ledgers, sales expense ledgers, general administrative expense ledgers, and factory expense ledgers. When auxiliary ledgers are established, the previous ledger is called the general ledger or general ledger to distinguish between the two. Accounting systems take on various forms depending on the purpose of recording, industry, company size, rationalization of bookkeeping, etc.
