Partindo (English spelling)

Japanese: パルティンド(英語表記)Partindo
Partindo (English spelling)
A nationalist political party in Indonesia in the 1930s. Its official name was the Indonesian Party. After the Dutch colonial government imprisoned Sukarno and other top leaders, the Party was formed in 1931 by a majority within the Indonesian National Party, including Vice Chairman Sartono, who wanted to disband the party and take over the mantle of the National Party in a new organization. It continued the National Party's basic policy of non-cooperation with the Dutch and achieving national independence through a mass movement, and pledged to fight for the expansion of people's political rights, improvement of their economic lives, and the establishment of a people's government based on democratic principles.
