Ite missa est (English spelling)

Japanese: イテ・ミサ・エスト（英語表記）Ite missa est

Final recitation (shuusaisho). A liturgical text that concludes the Latin Mass. It means "Go, you are sent away." At the end of the Mass, the priest recites this phrase to the congregation to announce the end of the Mass. The congregation responds with Deo gratias (Thanks to God) or Benedicamus Domino (Blessed be the Lord). It was established in the first Ordo Romanus (1689), but it was already part of the oldest Roman Latin Mass. Since the Second Vatican Council (1962-65), the Japanese Mass has been "The Eucharist is concluded. Let us go, in the peace of the Lord. Thank you God."

終祭誦 (しゅうさいしょう) 。ラテン語によるミサでその終りを告げる典礼文。「行け，汝らは去らしめられる」の意。ミサの終りに司祭は会衆に向いこの語を唱えてミサの終了を告げる。それに対して会衆は Deo gratias (神に感謝す) または Benedicamus Domino (主を祝福せん) と応答する。最初のオルド・ロマヌス (典礼式書) に定められているが (1689) ，すでに最も古いローマのラテン語のミサに属していた。第2バチカン公会議 (1962～65) 以来，日本語によるミサでは「感謝の祭儀を終ります。行きましょう，主の平和のうちに。神に感謝」という。
