burette

A volumeter for dropping any amount of liquid. A typical one is a long glass tube of uniform thickness with evenly marked graduations, a tapered tip and a stopcock. It is mainly used to drop standard solutions for volumetric analysis. Hard transparent glass burettes of about 25-50 mL are generally used, but colored glass burettes are used in cases where the burette is susceptible to photodecomposition. Typical burettes include chamber burettes with a bulge at the top, Schellbach burettes which make it easier to read the meniscus, and Mohs-Blalock burettes used for testing, but there are also horizontal burettes which are used in a horizontal position. For trace amounts, there are micrometer burettes, ultratrace burettes, Scholl's microburettes and horizontal ultratrace burettes.

任意量の液体を滴下するための体積計．普通のものは，太さが一様の長いガラス管に均等な目盛線を刻み，先端を細くし，コックをつけたもの．主として容量分析の標準液の滴下に用いられる．硬質透明ガラス製の25～50 mL 程度のものが一般に用いられるが，光分解を受けやすい場合には着色ガラスビュレットを用いる．上部に膨らみをもつチェンバービュレット，メニスカスを読みやすくしたシェルバッハビュレット，検定用のモース・ブラロック検定用ビュレットなどが代表的なものであるが，水平位置で用いる水平ビュレットもある．また，微量用としては，マイクロメータービュレット，超微量ビュレット，ショールのミクロビュレット，水平型超微量ビュレットなどがある．
