Ingrid Bergman

Japanese: バーグマン - ばーぐまん(英語表記)Ingrid Bergman
Ingrid Bergman

A Swedish actress. Born in Stockholm, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and starred in several films from 1934. She was invited by producer David O. Selznick to move to the United States and starred in A Separation (1939). In the 1940s, she was blessed with many films, including Casablanca (1942), For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943), Gaslight (1944, Academy Award for Best Actress), and Notorious (1946), and her passionate acting and beauty made her a top star. However, she was moved by a film by Italian director Roberto Rossellini, and in 1950 she abandoned her husband and daughter to run to him, starring in Stromboli and marrying him. This incident caused her to be shut out of the American film industry, but she made a comeback in 1956 with A Farewell to Her, and again won the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 1958, she married theater producer Lars Schmidt. In her later years, while battling cancer, she continued to appear mainly on stage, in films such as "Murder on the Orient Express" (1975, Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress) and "Autumn Sonata" (1978), and passed away in London. She wrote an autobiography, "My Story" (1980).
