A joke story written by Kitasa Nosanjin. Published in 1770 (Meiwa 7). One volume. Nanko refers to Shinagawa. It contrasts the story of a half-expert, Suimu, who boasts of his knowledge of Yoshiwara, visiting Shinagawa for the first time with three friends and being treated coldly by the women, with one of the friends, Shuuho, being treated well by a familiar woman. The story begins with an explanation of the personalities of the four people, showing how a joke story is written by fitting the characters into stereotypical character traits. It is notable as the first joke story based on the Shinagawa coverage. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
