The Chronicles of Narnia - Narnia Stories
British critic and novelist C.S. Lewis This is a series of seven fairy tales published by John Dory between 1950 and 1956. The story is about the adventures of four brothers who are evacuated to the suburbs during World War II and travel to and from an unknown country through the depths of a wardrobe. The first story, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950), tells of a lion named Aslan saving Narnia, which has been turned to stone by the White Witch. The story goes on to include rescuing a prince from a conspiracy (Prince Caspian's Horn, 1951), visiting an underwater city (The Dawn Treader, 1952), and visiting a giant's town (The Silver Chair, 1953). Other stories in the series include one about the relationship between Narnia and its neighboring countries (The Horse and the Boy, 1954), a story about the founding of Narnia (The Magician's Nephew, 1955), and a record of an apocalyptic battle in which good and evil divide the world (The Last Battle, 1956).
