Narutomi Hyogo - Narutomi Hyogo
1560-1634 Oda-Toyotomi: Samurai and water control expert in the early Edo period.
Born in 1666. A samurai of the Hizen Saga domain. He explained the necessity of civil engineering flood control projects to the domain lord, Nabeshima Katsushige. He promoted projects such as the development of new rice fields in Kose-no, the construction of the Ichinoe Channel, and the Chikugo River Chirikudoi Levee. He died in 1631, at the age of 75. His name was Shigeyasu.

永禄(えいろく)3年生まれ。肥前佐賀藩士。藩主鍋島勝茂(かつしげ)に土木治水事業の必要性を説く。巨勢野(こせの)の新田開発,市ノ江水道の開削,筑後(ちくご)川の千栗(ちりく)土居(どい)堤防などの事業をすすめた。寛永11年死去。75歳。名は茂安。
