This refers to the arts and martial arts that are approved for transmission. The arts that are approved for transmission are characterized as secret things or secret pieces, and cannot be learned without the permission of the master. These secret things and pieces are called permitted things or permission, but in the tea ceremony they are called denjumono (pronounced "transmitted things"), in Heikyokuji they are called himitsu (secret things), and in Noh and Kyogen they are called shuramono (shun) etc. The pieces and stages of permitted things vary depending on the style or school. The transmission of performing arts has traditionally had the concept of secrecy, and the transmission of arts and crafts is considered to be the impartation of special abilities, so they were characterized as secret techniques, mysteries, secret rituals, secret techniques, secret teachings, and secret pieces, and this became the system of permitted things.
