A city in the mid-west of Aichi Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1972. It is located on the Owari Hills, and is connected to the Aichi Irrigation Canal and has many reservoirs. Industries such as machinery, publishing, printing, and food have developed here. It borders Nagoya and Kariya, and is connected to the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line and the Isewan Expressway, and has seen rapid residential development.
