The dynasty, which lasted for about 180 years until the death of the 18th king, Kalim Allāh, in 1527, repeatedly fought with the Hindu dynasty of Vijayanagar in southern India over the diamond mines of Golconda and the areas along the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers.
