A branch of the old Yodo River that flows through Osaka City. The old Yodo River splits into the Dojima River to the north and the Tosabori River to the south, separated by Nakanoshima. The river continues until it rejoins the Aji River at the western end of Nakanoshima. The area along the river is the administrative, cultural and economic center of Osaka City.
