This library is located in Arisugawanomiya Memorial Park in Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It was founded in 1973. As the center of a library network that responds to the diverse needs of an urbanized, information-based society, it provides services for research and study by Tokyo residents, lends materials to public libraries in Tokyo, and provides bibliographic information. Its collection includes approximately 1.6 million books (1996), including approximately 250,000 Edo-related materials transferred from the Hibiya Library. 東京都港区南麻布の有栖川宮(ありすがわのみや)記念公園内にある図書館。1973年創設。都市化・情報化社会における多様な需要にこたえる図書館ネットワークのセンターとして,都民の調査・研究に対するサービス,都内の公立図書館への資料貸出し・書誌情報の提供などを行う。日比谷図書館から移管の江戸関係資料など約25万冊をはじめ蔵書数約160万冊(1996)。
