This library is located in Arisugawanomiya Memorial Park in Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It was founded in 1973. As the center of a library network that responds to the diverse needs of an urbanized, information-based society, it provides services for research and study by Tokyo residents, lends materials to public libraries in Tokyo, and provides bibliographic information. Its collection includes approximately 1.6 million books (1996), including approximately 250,000 Edo-related materials transferred from the Hibiya Library.
