Emperor Tianzuo (English: Emperor Tianzuo)

Japanese: 天祚帝 - てんそてい(英語表記)Tiān zuò dì
Emperor Tianzuo (English: Emperor Tianzuo)
1075‐1125
The ninth emperor of the Liao dynasty in China. Reigned 1101-25. Yelu Yanxi (Yalü Yanxi). Grandson of the eighth emperor, Daozong. He ascended to the throne after Daozong's death, but neglected politics, and the country's fortunes declined. At that time, the Sheng Jurchen Wanyanbe Aguda (the founder of the Jin dynasty) rose up in northeastern China, so he led his troops to attack him, but was defeated. Peace negotiations with the Jin also failed, and he was pursued by the Jin army and fled to Inner Mongolia. Later, when he tried to flee to the Song dynasty, he was captured by the Jin army, and the Liao dynasty was destroyed in both name and reality. He was taken to Changbai Mountain by the Jin army and died there.
