Dinaric Alps

Japanese: ディナル･アルプス[山脈]（英語表記）Dinaric Alps

A general term for the mountain range that runs from northwest to southeast along the Adriatic coast of the western Balkan Peninsula. In Serbo-Croatian it is called the Dinara Mountains (Dinarske planine). It spans southern Slovenia, most of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and parts of Serbia. It is named after Mount Dinara (1,831 m) in the Dalmatian mountain range. The highest peak in the range is Mount Bobotov Kuk (2,522 m) in the Durmitor massif in Montenegro, and this area is famous as the site of the partisan war.

バルカン半島西側のアドリア海沿岸を北西から南東に走る山脈の総称。セルビア･クロアチア語ではディナラ山脈Dinarske planineとよばれる。スロベニア南部，クロアチアの大部分，ボスニア･ヘルツェゴビナ，モンテネグロ，セルビアの一部に及ぶ。ダルマツィア地方の山塊にあるディナラ山(1831m)にちなんで名づけられた。この山脈の最高峰はモンテネグロのドゥルミトルDurmitor山塊にあるボボトブ･クック山(2522m)で，このあたりはパルチザン戦争の舞台として有名。
