Born in 1322, Kyoto [Died] Engen 3 = Ryakuo 1 (1338). April 13. Son of Emperor Go-Daigo in Kyoto. His mother was Shintaikenmon-in Fujiwara no Renshi. Also read as "Tsuneyoshi". When the Genko Rebellion planned by Emperor Go-Daigo failed and the Emperor was imprisoned in Rokuhara, the prince was temporarily placed in the care of Fujiwara no Nobuaki's residence, and later banished to Tajima and imprisoned in the home of Shugo Ota Morinobu. In Genko 3 = Shokei 2 (1333), Morinobu raised an army with the prince. When the Kenmu Restoration came, he became crown prince in Kenmu 1 (1334). In Engen 1 = Kenmu 3 (1336), Ashikaga Takauji came east from Kyushu and a temporary peace agreement was made with Emperor Go-Daigo, so he was taken by Nitta Yoshisada and others to base himself in Kanazaki Castle in Echizen to manage the northern provinces. However, the castle fell the following year, and the prince was captured, escorted to Kyoto, and poisoned to death.
