This is the diary of Chunagon Fujiwara Tsunetoshi (1214-76), Shonii (Senior Second Rank). It is also known by other names such as Kikko-ki and Kikre-ki. It is an aristocrat's diary from the mid-Kamakura period, from 1237 (Kasei 3) to 1276 (Kenji 2). Tsunetoshi was from the Yoshida family of the Kanshuji line, and was an administrative bureaucrat as a benkan (official official), kurōdo (secretary of state), and inshi (official governor of Gosaga-in), so the diary includes many copies of official petitions and reports, making it an important historical source for understanding the power of the imperial court at the time. Included in the Tosho-ryō Sokan, compiled by the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department. [Oda Yuzo] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
