Jiaohe Ancient City Site (English: Jiaohe Ancient City Site)

Japanese: 交河古城址 - こうがこじょうし（英語表記）Jiāo hé gǔ chéng zhǐ

The remains of a capital city in Wuxing Township, Turpan County, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. Also called Yar Khoto. It is about 10km west of Turpan County, and refers to the entire long and narrow alluvial plateau, 1650m long from north to south, 300m long from east to west, and 30m high, carved out by the Dry River on both sides. The name comes from the river flowing around the city, as recorded in the Book of Han. Based on the situation of the ruins, it is generally believed to correspond to Jiaohe City, Jiaohe County (Gaochang Kingdom), Jiaohe County (Tang Dynasty), and Jiaohe (Uyghur) during the Han to Yuan dynasties.

中国，新疆ウイグル自治区吐魯番（トウルフアン）県五星公社にある都城址。ヤール･ホトYar Khotoとも呼ばれる。吐魯番県西方約10km，東西を涸川（かれがわ）でえぐられた南北1650m，東西300m，高さ30mの細長い沖積台地面全体を指す。河流が城下を繞（めぐ）るのでこの名を得るという《漢書》の記録を遺跡の状況に照合して，漢～元時代の交河城，交河郡(高昌国)，交河県(唐)，交河(ウイグル)に当てるのが通説である。
