Zinc oil

A mixed preparation of equal amounts of zinc oxide and vegetable oil. In the past, olive oil was used as the vegetable oil, and it was called zinc oxide oleaf oil. Nowadays, soybean oil and rapeseed oil are commonly used as the vegetable oil. It is a white or off-white muddy substance that separates if left to stand for a long time. It is used for minor skin diseases such as sores and diaper rash, and for minor burns. The astringent and drying properties of zinc oxide are utilized to protect damaged skin surfaces with vegetable oil. In addition, Acrinol Tincture Oil and Compound Acrinol Tincture Oil, which contain added acrinol, are listed as preparations in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia.

酸化亜鉛と植物油の等量混合製剤。古くは植物油としてオリーブ油が用いられ、亜鉛華オレフ油といわれた。現在は植物油として大豆油、菜種油がよく用いられる。白色ないし類白色の泥状物で、長く静置しておくと分離する。ただれ、おむつかぶれなどの軽い皮膚病や軽度のやけどに用いられる。酸化亜鉛の収斂(しゅうれん)性、乾燥性を利用し、傷ついた皮膚面を植物油で保護する。このほか、アクリノールを加えたアクリノール・チンク油、複方アクリノール・チンク油が製剤として日本薬局方に収載されている。
