A Shiite scholar from Baghdad who is said to be a descendant of Ali, the first Imam of the Shiite sect. As a theorist of the Nani Imam Shiite sect, he has written many treatises on Imam and actively debated with other sects. His brother, Sharif al-Radi, is famous for compiling The Way of Eloquence, a collection of Ali's sayings and deeds (Akhbar), and some say he is the editor of this book. These capable brothers have also written many other religious works, making great contributions to the Nani Imam Shiite sect.

シーア派の初代イマーム，アリーの血をひくとされるバグダードのシーア派の学者。ナニイマーム･シーア派の理論家として多くのイマーム論を書き，他派との論争を旺盛に行っている。アリーの言行録(アフバール)を集めた《雄弁の道》の編纂者として名高いシャリーフ･アッラディーを弟にもつが，彼をこの編者とする説もある。有能なこの兄弟は，ほかにも多くの宗教関係の著述があり，ナニイマーム･シーア派に多大な貢献をなしている。
